Building Update (May 2009)

The Walls are up and the roof is on! Before you know it, we'll be moving into 201 E. Sublett. It's hard to believe it's just been about 5 1/2 years since we began a new work in the Lord. And after several years of praying, planning, trusting and believing, as well as a healthy dose of God's grace, this summer we will be moving into our first facility.

This spiritual journey commenced with the purchase of 14 acres of land and a campus master plan which includes a Youth facility, Family Life Center, Worship Center and Children's building. Clearly in a short period of time, God has consistently allowed the vision of New Life to become a reality. Our first building that we will take occupancy of is our Youth facility. My vision is to see this building minister to our students and provide outreach to the students in the community. In the meantime, it will be our Multipurpose Facility which will allow us to serve Youth and the entire community as we have been, and will continue to do in new and exciting ways in our own facility.

How exciting it is for me to say that this summer's move-in is not the end, but only the beginning of the next exciting and challenging stage and phase of what God has in store for New Life Fellowship! Thank you for your support in making this all possible.

Building Update (March 2009)

Time flies when you're building a building. In the last update, we were

just getting started. In January our parking lot had been grated, but now it's paved! The slab has been poured for our foundation and walls are going up. Economically, times are challenging for everyone, and our building project is certainly feeling the pressures resulting from our current reality. However, Pastor Pugh reminds us of Nehemiah, who showed us that God works through the collaborative efforts of His people, and when the odds seemed insurmountable, He showed the way to overcome them.

"For they recognized that his work had been accomplished with the help of our God (Nehemiah 6:16)."

Building Update (January 2009)

Construction is well underway! Today (January 15th) we have a driveway and a parking lot. Things are coming along. Please continue to pray for the process, both of construction and for the continued spiritual growth of our congregation. Check out the latest pictures of the construction site.

Building Update (November 2008)

If you haven't been out to our land site lately, you should go. There are some exciting, noticeable changes at 201 Sublett (corner of Matlock & Sublett next to the CVS). Construction has begun! Dirt is being moved and the wheels are turning. Now that construction has begun on the first building of our Master Plan, we are planning for about an 8-9 month process to completion and move-in. We request your faithful prayers as we move into this next season of growth. Here are pictures of progress so far.

Building Update (September 2008)

On Sunday, September 28, New Life members and friends celebrated a Ground-Breaking Dedication service at our land, located at 201 Sublett in Arlington. In addition to praise songs, a brief history and prayer, participants were given the opportunity to put a "stake" in the ground to represent existing blessings or their hope in the future ministry of New Life Fellowship. Check out pictures from that day.

Last month, the City of Arlington approved our site plan. The next step in the process was to submit our building design to the city, which we also did. Once the design is approved, construction can begin!
The picture above is an artist rendering of our first structure, the Multipurpose building. God has truly been faithful to our congregation. As we rejoice and celebrate this milestone we've been praying for, I would like to remind us that we should not lose sight of our mission, "Inviting people to know and imitate Christ." Our own building is a gift from God that will allow us to do ministry at a higher level.
At the end of this year, we will have completed the 1st year of our 3-year "Step of Faith" Capital Campaign designed to provide the necessary funding for this phase of our building project. I sincerely thank you for your prayers and contributions to date and ask that you continue fervently praying for the building process. We are in turbulent economic times that not only challenge us as individual families, but will inevitably challenge our construction process. Therefore, as you pray, if you feel led, please also consider the following:
  1. Pray that as construction begins, we experience minimal costly surprises.
  2. For those who have pledged and are contributing, if God has made it possible financially, please consider praying about increasing your contribution in the form of a one-time additional pledge or periodic small gifts. These additional contributions can help offset the pledges made by families who are experiencing financial difficulties.
  3. If you are new to New Life or were unable to make a pledge last November and desire to participate, you may do so by completing a pledge card or obtaining a Step of Faith envelope form a Service Host on Sunday.
Thank you for your prayers and participation. As always we welcome any questions you may have. You may direct them to stepoffaith@nlifefellowship.org.
